What is retinography?
Retinography is a technique used in medicine to obtain high-resolution images of the retina. It is a simple, useful, safe and very comfortable test for the patient.
Once taken, an ophthalmologist specialising in the retina reviews the images and produces a report assessing the presence of any anomalies.
1. A simple test
Useful, safe and very comfortable for the patient.
2. Medical technique
Obtains high-resolution images of the retina.
3. The retina
A light-sensitive layer of tissue that makes vision possible.
4. Early detection
Detects signs of diseases that affect the retina.
Diseases we can detect
Diabetic Retinopathy
The most common diabetic eye disease. It occurs when the blood vessels in the retina change and can cause vision loss that is often irreversible.
AMD
Age-related Macular Degeneration. An eye disease caused by damage or deterioration of the macula, leading to vision loss.
Hypertensive Retinopathy
Changes in the retina caused by high blood pressure. It helps estimate the severity of changes in other organs.
Glaucoma
A disease usually caused by increased intraocular pressure that leads to progressive vision loss by damaging the optic nerve.
Most have no symptoms until an advanced stage
That is why regular check-ups are essential.
